Make sure that your site is online. Some engines may require your email confirmation for submission. Enter an alternate email address and check your inbox after submission. Also, when you reply confirming your submission, two or three search engines might ask whether you want to subscribe/unsubscribe to/from their occasional or weekly newsletters. (In my experience, the emails do not just keep on coming. If you do not submit 1000s of pages, you will not receive 1000s of confirmation emails. But if you are uptight or confused, and the emails bother you, then you better take the time to read each and every search engine’s terms of service.) Submission may take several minutes. Be patient.
