Father’s Day is coming up, and I was thinking about small web projects.

Many people start with a simple domain, free hosting, a small website, a forum, or a side project. Over time, some of these become important.

If someone else had to keep your project alive, would they know where the domain is registered, where it is hosted, when it renews, and how to manage the email/DNS?

A small project can still be valuable if it is documented and protected.
